Breed Suitability Test/ ZTP (TBC)
The UKDA have been the only organisation in the UK to hold a ZTP (Zuchttauglichkeitsprüfung), ‘Fit for Breeding Test’, inviting the honourable judge Mr Hans Wiblishauser, President of the IDC, from Germany to both events. In 2010, the first ZTP was held at Chancepixies kennel, Dover and the UKDA held another in 2016.
Due to demand, The United Kingdom Dobermann Association will be holding a BST (Breed Suitability Test) once we are sure Covid-19 restrictions will not interfere, with the location, dates, and judges to be announced. We will also be able to hold an AD, possibly of the same weekend.
The owner of any Dobermann bred in accordance with the breeding regulations can register his/her dog for a BST/ZTP providing the dog is at least 15 months old on the day of the event and is not banned from participating in shows or tests.
The dog must have passed his/her (BH) “Companion Dog Test”, UK KC WTUK, or KC Good Citizen Gold. The certificate is required as part of the registration procedure.
To register your interest and enrol for a BST, a written application must be completed and sent to ukdobermannassociation@gmail.com and must include:
(A) Original Import Pedigree or KC Pedigree and must be microchipped.
(B) Original medical cert for the HD and VWD issued by an organization recognized by the UKDA. Only the dog being entered requires HD result for a BST.
(C) A work record book to record its BH/IGP or UK KC WT. This must be complete & include all test details such as test date & location, test level, rating awarded, name of dog handler, name of trial judge etc.
(D) A copy of the owner’s current UKDA membership certificate (if there is more than one owner, copies of all owners’ membership certificates) and if applicable, a copy of the dog handler’s UKDA membership certificate. Owners are requested to make sure they have a copy of their membership certificate on the day.
(E) If a dog is repeating a BST, all original BST reports from previous tests must automatically be submitted.
The UKDA is at forefront of promoting the working & showing ability of this magnificent breed and we will continue to do so. The ZTP is a fit for breeding test and something we would like more breeders in the UK to become involved in.
